The Regional English Language Office (RELO) participated in the national summit of the Principals’ Association of Nepal in Pokhara, where over 1,000 school leaders from all seven provinces gathered. At the summit, RELO Officer Roger Cohen highlighted the growing demand for English in Nepali classrooms, U.S.-supported teacher training efforts, and the use of American success stories, history, and classroom resources to enrich English instruction.

Through U.S. government-produced English language training, the United States equips Nepali students with the skills to thrive in their own country while also making them more competitive in the global workforce. As economic and career opportunities expand, more young people can build their futures in Nepal, helping the country become a more competitive partner for the United States.

These programs also expand the English-speaking community in Nepal, extending the global reach of American media, pop culture, and products, and creating a more favorable environment for U.S. trade, investment, and business engagement.
